Written in plain English on purpose. The important part is the first one.
This is education, not medical advice
No Perfect Numbers exists to help you understand type 1 diabetes and have better conversations with your diabetes team. Nothing here is medical advice, a diagnosis, or an instruction to change your treatment. We never suggest insulin doses, ratios or corrections, and worked examples use fictional numbers to show principles only. Your diabetes team holds clinical responsibility for your care, and any change to your treatment is a decision for you and them.
Emergencies
If someone is seriously unwell, call 999. For urgent advice that isn't an emergency, call NHS 111. Never delay getting help because of something you read here.
What you can expect from the content
Pages are written from lived experience, based on current UK guidance (NICE, NHS), dated, and show their sources. We work hard on accuracy, but we can't guarantee that every page is complete, current or right for your situation, and we aren't liable for decisions made on the basis of the content. If you spot something wrong, please use the "suggest a correction" link on the page.
Who runs this
No Perfect Numbers is a personal, non-commercial project run by its founder in the UK. It is not a registered charity or company service, is free to use, and carries no advertising. Lived-experience quotes are shared with the consent of the people involved.
